4th Mazovian Laboratory Diagnostician Day and Conference at the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM)
The knowledge and expertise of laboratory diagnosticians is a cornerstone of effective patient treatment. On May 27, laboratory diagnosticians celebrate their professional holiday—Laboratory Diagnostician Day. To mark the occasion, the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted the conference “Laboratory Medicine as a Pillar of Quality Assurance and Diagnostic Innovation in Hospitals.”

Why formalism weakens authority
WUM students learned how the language used by professionals can build trust or create distance during the lecture by Prof. Marcin Matczak – lawyer, philosopher of law and publicist. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how doctors and other professionals today can establish their authority not only through their knowledge, but above all through the way they communicate.

On May 26, workshops for high school students were held at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Warsaw. For a few hours, the students had the opportunity to step into laboratories and feel like scientists.

Third National Conference of Clinical Speech and Language Therapy
The event gathered over 300 members from all over Poland: speech and language therapy practitioners and students, physicians, and other health care professionals, thus providing an ideal opportunity for discussion, exchanging experiences, networking, and planning future research and clinical collaboration.

"Line A(nesthesia): next station... intensive therapy" – student conference at WUM
It was the 9th edition of the Student Scientific Conference organized by the "TIVA" Anesthesiological and Intensive Care Nursing Student Club. The event was attended by students, professionals and enthusiasts of medicine from all over Poland. They met to exchange knowledge and experience related to anesthesiology and intensive care.

Our expert on the Minister of Health's Task Force on Robotic Surgery
Assoc. Prof. Jacek Sieńko, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the English Division WUM and the Rector's Representative for University Digitalization, became a member of the Task Force for Robotic Surgery. The Board was appointed by order of the Minister of Health as of 20 May 2026.

Who are the best young researchers at the Faculty of Pharmacy?
The 11th Mini-Symposium of Young Scientists has concluded. This year, a record 43 participants presented their work. The jury distinguished four of them, although all participants undoubtedly deserve recognition as outstanding young researchers of the faculty.

Our researcher has been appointed National Representative for Poland on the ESICM Council
Mateusz Zawadka, MD, PhD, from the 2nd Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care will represent the Polish community, support cooperation between national and European centers and participate in shaping the scientific and educational policy of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).

A solid dose of knowledge on medical emergency
This was made possible thanks to the third scientific conference “Sapere Aude – dare to be wise: Students to Students about Medical Emergency” at WUM. The topics covered were diverse and highly engaging. Attendance was also high, with students from universities, academies, and vocational schools across Poland, including Łódź, Katowice, Kielce, and Opole.

Science: How to support medical students and professionals in addressing online threats
Cybersecurity in healthcare today is not only a matter of technology, but also of the everyday decisions made by healthcare personnel. Our university, together with partners from Czechia, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, and Portugal, is carrying out the project “Securing Health & social care Institutions resilience to cybercrimes through Empowerment Literacy and Digital skills of the workforce and students” (SHIELD for short). SHIELD aims to strengthen the resilience of the healthcare system by developing digital competencies and fostering safe habits among medical students and healthcare professionals.
