Focus on MUW - 2026
The First Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC WUM once again invited participants to attend the International Congress of Cardiomyopathy. This was the third edition of the event, which, as in previous years, enjoyed great interest and attracted over 800 participants. The organizers are pleased with such a high turnout. They emphasize that cardiomyopathies are heart conditions that affect patients more commonly than it is believed, yet they are still not discussed enough in the context of everyday medical practice.
Another edition of the National Student Radiology Forum (SOFoR) is now behind us. For the twelfth time, this conference brought together young radiology enthusiasts from across Poland. The event was attended by students and physicians associated with radiology, nuclear medicine, radiography, and medical physics.
On March 20, 2026, another edition of one of Poland’s largest conferences dedicated to liver diseases, “Hepatology 2026 – Advances in Diagnostics and Treatment,” was held in Warsaw. The event brought together nearly 400 participants – physicians from across Poland involved in the management of liver diseases, including specialists in gastroenterology, infectious diseases, transplantation, and pediatrics, as well as internists and family medicine physicians.
This time, high school students attended a lecture by Dr. hab. Grzegorz Rosiak from the 2nd Department of Clinical Radiology at the Central Clinical Hospital of the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw (CSK UCK WUM), titled “Interventional Radiology.”
Invited experts unanimously emphasized that dental care in Poland should integrate the knowledge and competencies of many specialists – not only dentists, but also speech therapists, dietitians, pharmacologists, among others – to address the complex needs of elderly patients better. This is not a matter of the distant future, but a current challenge driven by the rapid aging of our society.
From laboratory diagnostics, through the analysis of test results, to the final clinical diagnosis – such a broad view of hematology was proposed during the 1st Student and Doctoral Conference "Hematological perspective". The participants of the event could take part in lectures by specialists – laboratory diagnosticians and clinical practitioners, as well as listen to the speeches of students and doctoral students. They could also participate in workshops conducted by scientific student clubs of our university.
Almost 200 students of medicine, emergency medicine, nursing, as well as physicians from all over Poland took part in the second edition of the PediCardia conference which was devoted to heart diseases in children. The central theme of the event was the concept of stress in the broadest sense – in emergency situations, diagnostics and therapy, perioperative and transplantation procedures.
was the 8th edition of this student-organized event. Its significance grows every year. A total of 700 participants registered this time. The topics of discussions included modern methods of diagnosis and therapy in cardiology.
The 22nd edition of the “Warsaw Nephrological Meetings” scientific and training conference has come to a close. The event was organized by the Chair and Department of Nephrology, Dialysis and Internal Medicine at MUW. The theme of this year's symposium was “How do we treat patients in the 21st century?” This question was addressed by outstanding experts from Poland and abroad.
The lecture was organized by the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at WUM. The expert spoke about what multimodal treatment of the musculoskeletal system involves and concluded by sharing his experience regarding the residency application process in the United States.
