The tasks of the DFUM include, among others, issuing opinions on behalf of the medical PhD student community, submitting proposals for draft legislation to the relevant public authorities, promoting the interests and protecting the rights of PhD students of medical universities, supporting self-governance within the medical academic community, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences, carrying out joint scientific and cultural projects, and promoting interdisciplinary approaches in scientific and research initiatives conducted as part of doctoral training.
- I consider the role entrusted to me a great honor, and I hope to represent the PhD students of all medical universities with dignity - emphasizes Adam Bujanowicz. - Together with the entire DFUM Board, we want to increase the visibility of our community, which brings together true talents quietly changing the world through hard work. By next year, we aim to deliver concrete proposals for change- or even implement some changes already- that will provide future PhD students with the opportunities for even greater growth.
Dominika Dobiecka of the Medical University of Białystok was elected Chair of the Doctoral Forum of Medical Universities for the 2026-2027 term, and Katarzyna Płoszka of the Medical University of Łódź was elected 1st Vice-Chair.

The WUM Doctoral School trains PhD students in three disciplines: medical sciences, health sciences, and pharmaceutical sciences. It ensures that doctoral candidates acquire the skills to draw on the global body of scientific knowledge, identify and solve research problems, and plan and conduct scientific research. Furthermore, it offers opportunities to collaborate with renowned experts and develop the competencies necessary in the world of modern science.
PhD students of the Medical University of Warsaw are ambitious researchers who push the boundaries of knowledge every day and seek answers to the most pressing challenges facing modern medicine. By combining their passion for science with practical experience, they carry out research projects/scientific initiatives that have a real impact on the advancement of healthcare and the improvement of patient quality of life.
