These are fascinating and interdisciplinary fields that combine chemistry, biology, physics, technology, and medicine. They are also essential because helping patients would not be possible without them. To showcase the many facets of pharmacy and medical analytics, the Faculty of Pharmacy once again invited students from Warsaw high schools to participate in “Discover our faculty” workshops. More than 300 students from classes with an extended biology and/or chemistry program accepted the invitation.

Type II diabetes is a disease that often leads to diabetic foot syndrome and characteristic chronic wounds. It is one of the most dangerous complications of diabetes, often leading to limb amputation and increasing the risk of serious infections. Unfortunately, the incidence of diabetes continues to rise, and the available methods of treating wounds in patients often prove insufficient. Therefore, the search for new, bioactive dressings that could be used in the treatment of chronic wounds in this condition is extremely necessary and important.
Our specialists have performed the first transcatheter mitral valve implantation procedures in Poland, which were also among the first in Europe, using a new system. This opens new therapeutic perspectives for a large group of symptomatic patients who, due to clinical and anatomical limitations, could not previously be effectively treated.
