Researchers from the University of Bologna with lectures at our university
Prof. Fabrizia Grepioni and Prof. Dario Braga from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bologna are distinguished specialists in the field of crystal engineering, among others. Their presentations were of great interest to doctoral students and MUW students.
Final evaluation results. We got three "A's"
In the fields of medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences and health sciences, we earned "A" categories. We received these high grades for our scientific activities in 2017-2021.
One donor, two recipients: the first such liver transplant in Poland
In the Department and Clinic of General Transplantation and Liver Surgery at the UCK WUM, a pioneering transplantation of liver taken from a deceased donor and divided for two adult recipients has been carried out – the first of its kind to be performed anywhere in the country. This is another milestone in the Medical University of Warsaw’s transplantology program.
Our student will go to the prestigious EuroSkills Gdansk 2023 competition
The final of the WorldSkills Poland competition in the "Healthcare" category is behind us. During the three days of the competition, six finalists from all over Poland solved tasks on patient care in various conditions. The winner was Magdalena Szymańska, a nursing student at MUW. Now, as a member of the Polish national team, she will take part in the EuroSkills Gdansk 2023 international professional skills competition.

WIMC or Warsaw International Medical Congress for Young Scientists is one of the largest conferences for young scientists in Europe. In the world of science, it already has its well-established position. It creates many valuable opportunities for young scientists, primarily to present the effects of their research work and to build a network of international contacts.
Transplantation is a gift of life
Lenka is 9 years old and underwent a heart transplant in December 2022. It was performed by specialists at UCC MUW. Yesterday, during our press conference organized on the occasion of the upcoming National Transplant Day, the girl and other transplant patients told their stories. About how they got the chance for a second life.
How we "played" for WOŚP
The 31st Finale is behind us. This year the Orchestra played to win against sepsis. And we played along with it. In Pole Mokotowskie we organized a meeting for dog lovers and their pets, during which money was collected for WOŚP. The fundraising also took place during the Indoor Football Tournament co-organized by us and during the ICE WUM Slide. Many students were also WOŚP volunteers. On our initiative, charity auctions and online fundraising were launched and are still ongoing.
MUW and Warsaw University of Technology work together to protect the health of Poles
On January 20 of this year, Medical University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement. The document sets a strategic framework for joint activities between the universities, which are leaders in their fields in Poland.
The Department of Cardiology celebrates 70 years of operation
The development of cardiology in Poland is well illustrated in the history of the 1st Department of Cardiology MUW.- Our center is one of the best in the country, both in terms of scientific standing, as well as in terms of treatment and diagnostics - stressed Professor Marcin Grabowski, head of the department and host of this year's anniversary.
An outline of neonatology for midwives. Lectures by Prof. Milan Stanojevic
Prof. Stanojevic came at the invitation of Prof. Bozena Kociszewska-Najman, head of the Department of Neonatology and Rare Diseases UCC MUW, as part of the Visiting Professors program. He gave lectures to female midwifery students. - The midwife is the first person to see the newborn immediately after birth - Prof. Stanojevic emphasized during the meetings, so he devoted his speeches to how to properly examine newborns and analyze abnormalities in this group of patients.
