Nearly 1,000 newly enrolled students in the fields of dietetics, nursing, midwifery, emergency medicine and public health, took the student oath on Thursday, October 6. Thus officially - already as students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, they began a new stage in their lives and a wonderful scientific adventure.

The Medical University of Warsaw and the Rotary Club Warsaw City is offering scholarship for specialists in anatomopathology.

"I accept you as a student of the University" - With these words, during the ceremonial inauguration of 2022/2023, the Rector of MUW swore in the first-year students who received the highest scores during this year's recruitment. The best doctoral students also took the solemn oath. This year, nearly 3,000 high school graduates received our university's index, whereas 58 students started their studies at the Doctoral School.

The money comes from the Medical Fund and was received by the University Clinical Center. The funds are intended to "improve the quality and availability of services for children." In practice, this means that our children's clinics will be able to buy state-of-the-art medical equipment - such as CT scanners, X-ray machines, ultrasound scanners, cardiac monitors, and non-medical equipment - such as chairs, couches and computers.

The current issue is dominated by topics related to the Inauguration of the Academic Year 2022/2023. We have a presentation of the university and departmental authorities. We learn about the composition of the Senate and the Council of Academic Disciplines. We also get a solid history lesson, i.e. the inaugural lecture entitled "Teaching Medicine in Warsaw - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" delivered by Prof. Dr. h. c. multi Marek Krawczyk.

The prize went to the Swedish paleobiologist for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution. - This is the first Nobel awarded for time travel - commented experts from our university at the Nobel Week meeting.

Science allows you to better understand the world and is certainly not boring! This was once again proven by our specialists, who took part in the Science Festival - the largest event in Mazovia popularizing knowledge and research findings.

For several months now, selected food products sold in Poland and other EU countries are marked with five-colour nutrition labels. They are made under the Nutri-Score labelling system developed in France in 2017. The colours – ranging from dark green to red and the letters – from A to E – are designed to provide consumers with information on the nutritional value. Do the labels provide us with information regarding the products which are desirable in the diet and should be eaten more often or in greater quantities and which products should be limited? The were the questions that researchers from the Faculty of Health Sciences set out to answer with an important study on nutritional labelling of food.

- "Science is like an immeasurable sea, the more you drink of it, the more thirsty you are," wrote Stefan Żeromski. Therefore, the conferring a postdoctoral degree is another step and a great mobilization to continue to work hard, develop and achieve the next goals - said Klaudiusz Nadolny, MD, PhD, one of the protagonists of yesterday's promotion ceremony.
