This was the second graduation ceremony held by the Faculty of Dental Medicine in recent weeks. This time, diplomas were awarded to 148 graduates from four programs: Dentistry in Polish – 106 people, Dentistry in English – 5, Dental Technology – 17, and Dental Hygiene – 20.
The winner of the prestigious competition was a groundbreaking therapeutic program for children with hepatitis C. The main prize went to the project manager, Prof. Maria Pokorska-Śpiewak, Deputy Head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases WUM. The final ten also included projects by teams from the Chair and Department of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery, the First Chair and Department of Cardiology WUM, and an interdisciplinary team of cardiologists, radiologists, and pulmonologists from the Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw.

They did not give up and succeeded – and their efforts have now been crowned. One hundred and forty-four students received their graduation diplomas at the Faculty of Dental Medicine.
Professor Rafał Krenke, WUM Rector, has handed the nomination for the role of director at the WUM University Clinical Center to Marzena Kowalczyk.
The hallway of the Didactic Center turned into one big fruit and vegetables market. Guests could taste the products and discuss healthy eating with the scientists and students from the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Established in 1950, the Department is the oldest department of pediatric surgery in Poland. To commemorate this impressive anniversary, a two-day conference was held, titled “Pediatric Surgery: Past, Present, and Future”. It was an opportunity for both reminiscing about the past and meeting former colleagues, and to share knowledge and experience related to pediatric surgery, which has been developing dynamically as a field.
During the faculty’s opening ceremony of the academic year, congratulations were extended to the event’s main protagonists – and rightly so, as admission to the Pharmacy and Medical Analytics programs is a remarkable achievement. The new students were also wished success and good fortune. They then took the oath of matriculation.
You only need to crave more learning. Representatives of 100 student clubs active at the WUM talked about what it meant to develop, what you could do and which areas you could pursue.
The ceremonial matriculation at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (WLS) took place on October 9. The Faculty offers seven study programs: dentistry, dental hygiene, dental technology, physiotherapy, radiology, audiophonology with hearing prosthetics, and speech therapy (general and clinical). Newly admitted students to these programs were welcomed by Dean Prof. Agnieszka Mielczarek.
Our University has once again been included in the prestigious World University Rankings 2026 compiled by Times Higher Education. WUM, with a score of 32.1–35.4%, was ranked 1001–1200 among nearly 2,200 of the world’s best universities.
