amending the Order no. 193/2020 of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw of September 24, 2020 on the organization of classes at studies, doctoral studies, doctoral school, postgraduate studies, courses and training, and the organization of credits and exams, in the winter semester of the academic year 2020 / 2021 in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic.

Based on Article. 23 sec. 1 and art. 67 sec. 4 of the Act of July 20, 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85, as amended) and Article 1 sec. 4 of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of October 16, 2020 on the temporary limitation of the functioning of medical universities in connection with preventing, counteracting and combating Covid-19 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1833), as well as Article. 12 para. 7 of the Statute of the Medical University of Warsaw, it is ordered as follows: 
Amendments are made to the Order No. 193/2020 of September 24, 2020 as amended by Order No. 220/2020 of October 16, 2020 in the following areas:

 

§ 1.



1.  From November 16, 2020, the Medical University of Warsaw (hereinafter: the University) will change the organization of didactic classes during studies, to the extent specified in para. 2-9 below.
2. Lectures, seminars, optional classes, language classes and sports classes will be conducted according to the current rules, using the distance learning methods and techniques selected by the head of the department.
3.It is recommended that the largest possible part of the practical classes, including clinical classes (requiring direct contact with the patient or providing simulated conditions) and classes shaping practical skills, for students of the last year of first-cycle, second-cycle and full-time master studies of all fields of study should be conducted in the stationary (contact) form. If it is not possible to conduct practical classes or classes in the contact form, it is allowed to conduct some classes and classes only with the use of distance learning methods and techniques. The remaining part of the exercises, including clinical exercises and classes developing practical skills, should be conducted in a contact form at a different date, but not later than by the end of the 2020/2021 academic year.
4. Classes, including clinical ones (requiring direct contact with the patient or providing simulated conditions) for students of the remaining years of first-cycle, second-cycle, and uniform master's studies of all fields of study should be conducted in a full-time (contact) or hybrid form. If it is not possible to conduct exercises in the contact or hybrid form, it is permissible to conduct some classes only with the use of distance learning methods and techniques. The remaining part of the classes, including clinical classes should be carried out in the contact form at a different date, but not later than by the end of the academic year 2020/2021.
5. It is acceptable, upon the Dean's consent, at the request of the head of the department, to shift the hours and dates of the classes: classes, lectures and seminars between the winter and summer semesters, however, maintaining the department’s annual didactic plan.
6. The relevant Dean is responsible for the total number of course hours and course of all classes during the studies.
7. The possibility of voluntary (at the student's request) making up for outstanding summer internships as well as outstanding and current mid-year internships throughout the academic year 2020/2021 in any medical entities is introduced, with the reservation that the internships will not interfere with the planned compulsory classes and must be according to the apprenticeship program for the given year of study. Completion of outstanding internship must be confirmed with a certificate issued by the medical entity on the completed period and activities as part of the internship.
8. Students of the following faculties: medicine, medicine and dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, obstetrics, medical analyst, physiotherapy, medical rescue, may perform activities during the academic year 2020/2021 as part of tasks carried out by medical entities or sanitary and epidemiological services in connection with SARS-CoV-2 virus infections and, on the basis of a certificate issued by these entities on the completed period (hours) and activities, apply for a credit for part of the classes or groups of classes, shaping practical skills, including practical classes and internships for which the program learning outcomes covering practical skills were assigned to the studies. Students of other fields of study may apply for credit under the above conditions, if the University Senate in the academic year 2020/2021 accepts changes in the study program of these fields of study, introducing the possibility of taking classes or part of classes shaping practical skills in medical entities or sanitary and epidemiological services under the implemented by them in connection with SARS-CoV-2 virus infections.
9. In the remaining areas, the provisions of Order No. 193/2020 of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw of September 24, 2020 as amended by Order No. 220/2020 of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw of October 16, 2020 shall apply.
 

§ 2.
