Health Day at the Faculty of Health Sciences
This was a major event dedicated to health promotion and prevention. It was organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences on the occasion of the upcoming World Health Day. Students from five public high schools and senior citizens were invited to attend - a total of more than 400 people. Guests first listened to interesting lectures by experts, and then sought advice and information from representatives of student scientific circles.

Saturday, March 23 was an exceptional day at the Department of General and Transplantation Surgery UCC MUW. On a single day, in less than 10 hours, two pancreas transplants were performed there (including one - simultaneous with a kidney transplant). The patients are feeling better and better, and although both are still in the hospital, they will be discharged home in the next few days.

Obesity and lack of exercise are major causes of type II diabetes
The most important thing in preventing type two diabetes is prevention, i.e. fighting obesity, a good diet and physical activity, emphasized Senator Agnieszka Gorgoń-Komor, MD, PhD, during the debate "How to stop the diabetes epidemic?" organized by the Medical Center MUW and held on March 15 at the Medical University of Warsaw. The senator added that Poles live ten years less than Italians or Spaniards due to diseases of civilization.

The best of the best selected in the finals of the Master Thesis Competition of the Faculty of Pharmacy
In the finals, 10 pharmacy and 9 medical analytics students presented their works. The Preclinical Testing and Technology Center (CePT) is the largest integrated biomedical and biotechnology research center, which has been involved in interdisciplinary research of lifestyle diseases for years. During the conference that took place on March 8 at our University building, discussion was focused on the Center’s key achievements in the field of biomedicine and its contemplated operating directions for the future.
