Inclusion in the ranking, considered the world’s most influential university ranking, demonstrates a university’s international standing. In this edition, WUM maintained its position in the 1001–1200 range while improving its overall score compared with the previous year. The university’s overall score increased to 33.3–36.3 points. This makes WUM the third-highest-ranked medical university in Poland, tied with the Medical University of Gdańsk.
Four criteria show improvement
The ranking evaluates universities based on five criteria: “Teaching,” “Research Environment,” “Research Quality,” “International Outlook,” and “Industry.” In this edition, WUM improved its score in four of these areas. As in the previous year, WUM achieved its best results in “Research Quality” (56.1%) and “Industry” (49.7%).
The Times Higher Education ranking includes just under 2,300 leading higher education institutions worldwide.
This year’s THE World University Rankings included 44 Polish universities. Five other higher education institutions, along with WUM, were placed in the 1001–1200 range. Only four Polish universities were ranked higher.
