WUM ranked Poland’s top medical university by WaszaEdukacja.pl

The results of the 2026 Ranking of Universities in Poland, compiled by the WaszaEdukacja.pl portal, have just been announced. Our university ranked highest among all Polish medical universities and placed an impressive 20th overall.

The ranking assessed 98 academic institutions across seven categories: graduate career prospects, research, applicant preferences, faculty and study conditions, quality of education, internationalization, and prestige.

The ranking was based on objective, publicly available, up-to-date data, including indicators from the Graduate Tracking System (ELA/ZUS), the results of evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Science, data from the POL-on database, assessments by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA), and positions in international rankings (THE, QS, and ARWU).

Our university received its highest scores in the categories of applicant preferences, faculty and study conditions, and research. A high score in applicant preferences means that WUM remains the first choice for high school graduates with the best final examination results, as well as winners and finalists of academic competitions. The high score for faculty and study conditions confirms the very favorable ratio of outstanding lecturers and professors to the number of students. In practice, this translates into direct contact with leading experts in various fields of medicine, access to state-of-the-art laboratories, medical simulation centers, and clinical facilities. Finally, the high score for research reflects the high scientific categories awarded in the ministry's evaluation and the university's extensive research and development activities. For students and doctoral candidates, this means opportunities to participate in innovative research projects, publish in prestigious scientific journals, and gain access to the latest medical procedures and therapies developed at the university.
