Prof. Piotr Myrcha, the Head of the 1st Chair and Department of General and Vascular Surgery WUM, was accepted as a member of the American College of Surgeons, one of the most recognized surgical organizations worldwide. ACS membership is awarded to surgeons who meet high standards regarding professional qualifications, clinical experience and ethical conduct.

Professor Myrcha received the title of FACS – Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, which is an international confirmation of clinical, scientific and surgical achievements.

According to the official data of the American College of Surgeons, only 7 people from Poland belong to the organization, while only 3 of them have the status of Fellows (FACS). Obtaining this distinction by Prof. Piotr Myrcha is therefore an important event for our entire university.
