The Committee, which is part of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM), is responsible for key areas related to the development and recognition of the profession of laboratory medicine specialist in Europe. The election of Professor Ciepiela, who is currently the Head of the Department of Laboratory Medicine WUM, means not only strengthening the presence of Poland in European structures, but also a real impact on the certification process and the recognition of representatives of this profession.
This also presents an opportunity to better align the national education system with European standards and to enhance the recognition and professional mobility of Polish laboratory diagnosticians.
The scope of activity of EFLM Technical Committee "Register"
The European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) is a leading European organization associating national scientific societies operating in the field of laboratory medicine and clinical chemistry.
The tasks of the Technical Committee "Register" include:
- processing applications for the title of a European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine (EUSpLM),
- developing the EFLM Academy and the EuSpLM register,
- supporting the activities of the Profession Committee in the strategy for the recognition of laboratory medicine specialists at the European level.
