MUW representative in the prestigious program of the International Confederation of Midwives

Julia Klimanek, a university teacher and teaching assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Education MUW and a coordinating midwife at the St. Sophia's Specialist Hospital in Warsaw, was qualified to participate in the prestigious 24-month Midwife Leaders’ Executive Sponsorship Programme, organized by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM). She was selected from candidates from many countries as the so-called "sponsee" of the second edition of the program.

Julia Klimanek is a member of the Polish Midwives Association (PMA), including the University Section of the PMA at the MUW. She combines clinical activities with teaching, engaging in the education of future midwives and activities aimed at improving the quality of obstetric care. Her participation in the ICM program is an individual distinction and, at the same time, part of MUW activities for the development of professional competences of midwives.
The aim of the program is to support the professional development and leadership potential of current and aspiring midwifery leaders through individual mentoring cooperation with experienced leaders – Executive Sponsors. The program focuses on the development of leadership competences, strategic career planning and building international cooperation networks.
