Who is invited to the Welcome Center?
International students, both full-time and exchange (Erasmus+) participants, PhD students from abroad, visiting professors and researchers, newly admitted students to the English Division and the English Dentistry Division, as well as candidates interested in studying at WUM in English.
What kind of support can you receive at the Welcome Center?
We will provide assistance upon arrival in Poland and with completing the necessary forms, such as the Temporary Residence Card (TRC), as well as with university-related documents and procedures, and practical matters concerning life in Warsaw. We will also offer linguistic and practical support to ensure that international students and staff can begin their studies or work at WUM smoothly and successfully. Our approach will always be focused on individual needs.
Support will be provided by Katarzyna Uden, Welcome Center Coordinator.
Cultural adaptation and integration
The Welcome Center will also serve two other important functions. It will help foreigners understand Polish culture and local customs, which are essential for adapting to life in our country, where they will spend at least six years.
The Center will also host cultural events and activities that will foster integration between international and Polish students and staff.
Official opening of the Welcome Center

Jacek Sieńko, Krystyna Jarząb, Head of the English Division Dean’s Office, and Anetta Pszczołowska, Head of the Project Support Office, cut the red ribbon, officially opening the Welcome Center.
- The Welcome Center is a place where we support, advise, and connect, from the very first day until graduation - emphasized Dr. hab. Jacek Sieńko during the opening ceremony.
- The Center was established thanks to the dedication and commitment of a small group of people. I would like to thank them for creating something that will serve our students, staff, and guests in the best possible way. I also encourage everyone to share their ideas and needs so that this place can continue to grow - said Rector Prof. Rafał Krenke.
Those acknowledged for their contributions included: Dr. hab. Jacek Sieńko, Krystyna Jarząb, Anetta Pszczołowska, Wiktoria Gierlak from the Department of Didactic Projects, Agnieszka Wlazłowska-Pietrzak and Jowita Stachowiak from the Communication and Promotion Office, and Wioletta Smolarek from the Facilities Maintenance Office, who designed the Welcome Center space.
The event was also attended by Prof. Michał Grąt, Vice Rector for Internal Relations, Development and Promotion. A large group of English Division students, including members of the English Division Student Government (EDSG), also joined the celebration. The students were recognized for their support in creating materials promoting the English-taught medical program.
The establishment of the Welcome Center was made possible through funding from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
