Dr. Leonard Brennan, chief health advisor to the Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs, has be touring the countries where Australia has its embassies and diplomatic posts. His areas of interest include standards in healthcare services, their quality, and hospital facilities.
The delegation met with Professor Michał Grąt, Vice Rector for International Relations, Promotion and Development, who provided Dr. Brennan with an exhaustive description of the Polish healthcare system and the principles for ensuring state-funded healthcare services to the members of the diplomatic corps. Our guest also asked about WUM’s teaching hospitals, and then visited the Central Clinical Hospital, WUM UCC. The delegation was greatly impressed by the scope of services, the availability of the most advances medical technologies, and the modern equipment at the departments.
Dr. Leonard Brennan is a Member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to the country; he is a doctor, and holds a Master of Health Administration. Before he took the office of the advisor to the Australian government, he served for over 30 years in Royal Australian Army Medical Corps.
