WUM in the Perspektywy Higher Education Ranking 2026

Our study programs scored exceptionally well in this year's edition of the ranking. As many as eight of them placed highly (1st–3rd) in their respective categories. Electroradiology and Public Health ranked first! In the overall ranking, WUM maintained its 4th position among medical universities and ranked 18th among all academic universities.

The gala of the 27th edition of the Perspektywy Higher Education Ranking and Program Ranking 2026 took place on June 23 at the lecture hall of the National Institute of Rural Culture and Heritage. The guest of honor was Marcin Kulasek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, while the diplomas were handed out by Prof. Michał Kleiber, Chair of the Ranking Committee.

During the ceremony, diplomas on behalf of WUM were received by Prof. Agnieszka Mielczarek, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (WL-S) at WUM; Dr. hab. Piotr Regulski, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and for Dental Medicine (studies in English) and Electroradiology programs at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (WL-S) at WUM; and Dr. hab. Filip Raciborski, Vice-Dean for Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences (WNoZ) at WUM.

WUM's position among higher education institutions

This year’s Higher Education Ranking considered 101 public and private higher education institutions in Poland. WUM received 72.7 points, once again confirming its position among the elite of Polish higher education. Our university ranked 18th among all universities and 4th among medical universities. The ranking includes nine criteria: academic prestige, graduates on the labour market, inventiveness, research potential, research effectiveness, publications, quality of education, internationalization, and funding. WUM scored highly in the following criteria: research effectiveness, publications, academic prestige, innovation, and research potential.

WUM programs on the podium

In the 2026 Perspektywy ranking, 76 degree programs were evaluated (with electroradiology included as a new program) across nine fields of study: humanities, social sciences, economics, hard sciences, natural sciences, engineering, as well as agricultural and forestry sciences, theology, and medical and health sciences.

The programs offered at WUM fall within the last of these categories. As many as eight of them ranked in the top three of their respective listings.

  • Medicine – 2nd place (out of 19 universities)
  • Emergency Medical Services – 2nd place (out of 21 universities)
  • Medical Analytics – 3rd place (out of 11 universities)

  • Pharmacy – 3rd place (out of 11 universities)
  • Midwifery – 3rd place (out of 15 universities)
