WUM and the Police Central Counterterrorism Unit BOA expand cooperation

The cooperation concerns ensuring safety and countering threats on the premises of our university. On Friday, January 9, the agreement was signed by Prof. Marek Kuch, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, and Junior Inspector Karol Wojtyła, Deputy Commander of the Police Central Counterterrorism Unit BOA.

The agreement includes, among other things, conducting training by BOA officers for university staff, training for students on what to do in threatening situations and ways to avoid risk, exchange of experience in emergency medicine and tactical medicine, as well as organizing meetings with BOA representatives to analyze threats and promote counterterrorism service.

“The agreement that we co-signed is a reflection of a responsible and modern approach to safety. We share a common goal: protecting human life and health. Although we operate in different areas, today we demonstrate that medical knowledge and tactical-combat experience can and should complement each other,” emphasized Junior Inspector Karol Wojtyła. “I am convinced that this cooperation will bring tangible results, not only for our institutions and, above all, serve society.”

“I am extremely pleased with the signed agreement and the opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge. We have already completed the first training sessions conducted by BOA, and we now want to reciprocate with our medical expertise,” noted Prof. Marek Kuch. He added that during the signing of the agreement, there was also an opportunity to discuss further cooperation: “New times require new legislative plans and actions from our country. We would like to work on them together with the Police Central Counterterrorism Unit BOA”.

Those present at the signing also included:

  • On behalf of BOA: Junior Inspector Iwona Andratowicz, Advisor of the Analytical-Advisory Team, and Commissioner Paweł Gąsiński, Head of the Training and Combat Department,
  • On behalf of WUM: Jarosław Prugar, Deputy Chancellor for Operations; Prof. Robert Gałązkowski, Head of the Department of Medical Emergency; Janusz Urban from the Security Office; and Jarosław Kulczycki, Press Spokesperson.
