The QS World University Rankings by Subject is a recognized series of rankings of the world’s top universities, compiled according to the subject areas they offer. Subjects are evaluated based on five indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, number of citations, the Hirsch index, and the research performance of academic staff. The 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject covered 55 subjects across five broad areas: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management.
In this year’s ranking for the “Medicine” subject, 850 universities worldwide were included. A position in the 451–500 range places us roughly mid-table globally. WUM scored the highest number of points in the citations indicator (68.8) and in the Hirsch index (62.2).
