We co-organized the 5th edition of the International Conference "We! are Clinical Research"

The conference is a well-known and highly regarded event, during which current issues in clinical research are discussed. Participants attended discussion panels, workshops, and lectures. This year, WUM’s Academic Clinical Research Support Center joined the main organizer, the Leon Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw.

The event took place from October 8 to 10. On the first day, modern, patient-centred approaches to conducting clinical trials, including decentralized trial models, were discussed. The second day focused on current regulatory changes, quality standards, and practical experiences related to implementing the CTIS system and GCP E6 (R3) guidelines. On the third day, discussions addressed effective project management in research and the development of competencies for professionals in the clinical research sector.

As part of the conference, WUM organized:

  • A workshop titled “Starting a Clinical Trial – Three Perspectives, One Goal”;
  • lectures titled “Breakthroughs in Practice: How Innovative Clinical Trials Are Changing Medicine – Perspectives of a Cardiologist, Transplantologist, and Hematologist”, delivered by Professor Michał Grąt, Head of the Clinic of General, Transplant, and Liver Surgery; Professor Łukasz Kołtowski from the First Chair and Clinic of Cardiology; and Dr. Jarosław Biliński from the Chair and Clinic of Hematology, Transplantology, and Internal Medicine.

The opening speech was delivered by Professor Marcin Sobczak, Vice-Rector for Science and Technology Transfer, expressing hope that the participation of so many competent professionals from various fields would contribute to the development of even higher standards in clinical research. He also highlighted WUM’s activities in this area.

“The Medical University of Warsaw provides an excellent clinical base, with numerous units covering all medical specialties and over 3 million services annually. This makes us a key partner in the field of clinical research,” emphasized the Vice-Rector.

He also noted that WUM provides researchers with the necessary resources, infrastructure, and specialized knowledge for designing, conducting, and managing clinical trials and experiments. He encouraged participants to reach out and collaborate.

The “Clinical Trials Are US!” conference is intended for everyone interested in clinical research, including representatives of the medical and scientific communities, patient organizations, public administration staff, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, CROs, and students of medical and biomedical programs.
