University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw with PLN 38.4 million in funding

On Friday, June 30, at the Mazovian Provincial Office in Warsaw, Prof. Wojciech Lisik, Vice Rector for Clinical Affairs and Investments MUW, as well as Marzena Kowalczyk, Deputy Director for Economic and Administrative Affairs UCC MUW, received symbolic checks for a total of PLN 38.4 million for the University Clinical Center MUW. The funds come from the REACT - EU Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment initiative in support of health system recovery and resilience.

University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw received:

  • PLN 20 million to support health system resilience by strengthening UCC MUW infrastructure used to care for oncology patients
  • as well as PLN 18.4 million to strengthen and upgrade equipment resources to increase operational efficiency in the area of transplantation services for liver and kidney transplants

Both amounts come entirely from EU funds.

Symbolic checks were also received by: Prof. Waldemar Wierzba and Krzysztof Płaciszewski of the State Medical Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in Warsaw (for PLN 19.9 million) and Dr. Marek Migdał of the Children’s Memorial Health Institute (for PLN 10 million).

The ceremony was attended by: Małgorzata Gosiewska, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Martyniak, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health, Błażej Poboży, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Tobiasz Bocheński, the Voivode of Mazovia.
