The stationary Open Day at MUW is behind us

Thematic panels, workshops, 40 booths where students told what it's like to study and learn at MUW, and above all, more than 1,500 people visited us - one of the most important cyclical events at our university took place on Saturday, March 4.

The Open Day is a student "celebration" of the university organized for university candidates. It was opened by Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector, Prof. Marek Kuch, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, and Agata Andrzejczyk, Chairwoman of the Student Government MUW.

Students demonstrated many medical curiosities at the interactive booths they organized. You could measure glucose and saturation, analyze microscope slides, practice rescue skills on trainers and phantoms, including a newborn phantom, and insert a venflon yourself. And to try unusual snacks, including dried crickets and mealworms, and have fun to the rhythms of the Haiti Dance Game, thanks to a group of our English Division students.

The paramedics invited for an open first aid demonstration using an ambulance, and pre-registered groups participated in workshops: on surgical suturing, blood collection, anatomy "pins" and effective learning training, as well as tours of the Medical Simulation Center, the Sports and Rehabilitation Center and the University Dental Center. Those wishing to do so could also take part in open workouts - yoga and Pilates, led by coaches of the sports sections MUW.

About recruitment, anatomy and going abroad

Four thematic panels were held in the auditorium. The one that was probably the most important for university candidates concerned recruitment conditions and was led by Dr. Longin Niemczyk, secretary of the university's recruitment committee. Information on recruitment could also be obtained at the stand of the Office of Educational Organization and Student Affairs.
Our guests also listened with interest to the students of the "Ars Medica" scientific circle, who talked about the anatomy exam, which is considered one of the most difficult in medical studies. They advised how to study to pass it and explained that anatomy is not scary, but very interesting. Students belonging to the IFMSA-Poland Warsaw Branch shared their impressions of foreign student exchanges, and members of the Student Scientific Society talked about activities in student scientific circles. There are more than 200 of them at MUW, so it's a good idea to join one of them from the first year of studies and develop yourself scientifically.

The university in practice and from "behind the scenes"

Preparing such an event requires the involvement of many students and university staff. This year it was more than 200 people, and the work started at the beginning of the year. - We arranged the program so that candidates received all the necessary information about recruitment and student life - says Agnieszka Wlazłowska-Pietrzak, head of the Communication and Promotion Office. - We also wanted to show that medical, pharmaceutical or health fields of study are also very practical in nature. That's why we put great emphasis on the active participation of guests in the stationary event. We hope we succeeded and convinced them that MUW is worth choosing. All those who could not make it to MUW are welcome to attend the Open Day online on April 15.
Details of the MUW Open Day Online will be available soon on our website and social media.
