Strong Position of WUM in New Ranking of Polish Universities

Among the 101 universities included in the ranking, our university placed 17th and was ranked as the third-highest-rated medical university in Poland. The ranking was prepared by the Work&Science Foundation, an organization that supports young researchers and connects the world of science with the research and development sector.

Each university’s position in the ranking depended on by the total number of points earned across six criteria: academic awards, scientific publications, Top 1% publications, researchers’ presence in the World Top 2% Scientists ranking, PhD students, and institutional efficiency.

WUM’s Strengths

WUM received its highest score—78.60 points—in the institutional efficiency category, which shows how effectively a university translates its academic staff potential into tangible scientific achievements. In the scientific publications category, which takes into account articles published during the previous year in journals indexed in the Scopus database, our university earned 61.30 points, which is the ninth-best result in this category among all universities included in.

We are pleased with WUM’s strong position in yet another ranking, as it confirms the university’s stable standing among the country’s best academic centres and reflects the growing scientific activity of our academic community.
