STOP CANCER and Rotarian Christmas Tree Gala

The Foundation for the Development of the Medical University of Warsaw, with financial support from the Rotary Club Warsaw City and the Rotary Club Milano Nord, runs the STOP CANCER Program, which aims to improve the quality of histopathological diagnosis of cancer.

So far, 10 scholars from MUW have participated in the program, gaining additional skills at renowned international centers. This year, the Polish scholars of the STOP CANCER program were joined by three scholars from Ukraine:

  • Dr. Mykhailo Myroshnychenko, pathologist, Head of the Department of Pathophysiology at Kharkiv National Medical University - realization of a scholarship in the Department of Pathomorphology MUW;
  • Dr. Ruslana Falion, pathologist at the Department of Pathology of Lviv National Medical University - realization of a scholarship at the Department of Pathology of Vienna Medical University;
  • Dr. Olena Mazur, pathologist at the Department of Lviv National Medical University - realization of a scholarship at the Department of Pathomorphology MUW.

More pathologists from Poland and Ukraine are planned to participate in the STOP CANCER program. The participation of talented pathologists from Ukraine in the program is an important part of MUW's support for Ukraine.

The XXVII Rotarian Christmas Tree Charity Gala

The Rector, Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, and the President of the Medical University of Warsaw Foundation, Prof. Piotr Radziszewski, participated in the Rotary Club Warsaw City - organized by the Rotary Club – the XXVII Rotarian Christmas Tree Charity Gala, during which funds were collected to finance projects to help Ukraine fighting for freedom and independence against Russian aggression.

The funds raised will also be used for important scientific projects, including the continuation of the STOP CANCER program.

During the Gala, a film about the idea of the STOP CANCER program and the cooperation in this area between the MUW Foundation and the Rotary Club Warsaw City was presented. The film can be viewed at the link
