The National Council consists of 12 members. This institution plays a key role in ensuring the quality of education in nursing and midwifery. Every university that wants to offer courses in these fields must obtain accreditation from the Minister of Health. The Minister makes a decision based on the recommendation of the National Council. Its tasks include:
- Assessment of whether a university applying for accreditation for nursing or midwifery programs meets the educational standards specified in the regulations;
- Visiting educational institutions and checking their teaching results to ensure that they meet educational standards;
- Submitting applications to the Minister of Health for accreditation or revocation of accreditation if the institution does not meet educational standards.
