Our university hosts Inja Pavlic from Croatia, who carries out an academic placement as part of the LabX program of the European Federation of Laboratory Medicine (EFLM). The visit enables the exchange of experience in the field of modern laboratory diagnostics, at the same time promoting WUM as an attractive place to educate future specialists from all over Europe.
Inja Pavlic works at the Institute of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics at the Osijek Hospital Center in Croatia. She came to WUM as part of the LabX program, which aims to support international cooperation and exchange of experience among medical laboratory scientists in Europe.
During the placement, Inja Pavlic focuses on POCT (Point of Care Testing) diagnostics, i.e., tests performed directly in the presence of a patient. The placement is supervised by specialists from the Department of Laboratory Medicine WUM and the Laboratory of the Central Clinical Hospital UCC WUM. During the stay, she also learns about the organization and functioning of the POCT system at WUM teaching hospitals, as well as the activities of other diagnostic laboratories and units of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Inja Pavlic is the first person to come to our university as part of the LabX program run by the European Federation of Laboratory Medicine (EFLM). The initiative promotes building international professional relations, exchanging good practices and promoting WUM as an academic center open to students and specialists from abroad, including candidates interested in studying Laboratory Medicine.
