Dr Karol Momot, MD, PhD, from the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology WUM explains what epicardial adipose tissue is, how it affects health and why it may worsen the results of cardiac ablation. He also talks about research conducted at our university, in which scientists use non-invasive methods to assess the "quality" of the epicardial adipose tissue and search for markers of its pathological and pro-inflammatory activity in the blood using a liquid biopsy.
