Professor Wojciech Lisik elected the National Consultant in Clinical Transplantology

Professor Lisik, Vice-Rector of WUM Medical University of Warsaw for Clinical and Investment Affairs, is a specialist in general surgery, surgical oncology and clinical transplantology at the General Surgery and Transplantation Surgery Clinical Department of WUM Clinical Center (UCK WUM). He was appointed the national consultant in clinical transplantology by the Minister of Health.

Prof. Wojciech Lisik specializes in kidney and liver transplant; he is also the initiator of the surgical treatment of obesity program at WUM Medical University of Warsaw. He was the leader of the team which was the first in Poland to conduct a breakthrough surgery involving simultaneous liver and kidney transplant, as well as the head of a proprietary spleen and spleen with kidney transplantation program. He was the first in Poland to build a metabolic surgery program for the group of dialysis patients, patients prepared for a heart, liver and kidney transplant surgery, and post-transplantation bariatric treatment. 

Thanks to his activity, first-time bariatric surgeries in Poland were conducted at UCK WUM Clinical Department in patients: before a kidney transplant, as a bridge to transplantation; after a kidney transplant and a bariatric surgery during a liver transplantation. 

Moreover, Professor Lisik is the President Elect of the Polish Hepatology Society.
