The poll is organized throughout Poland by regional newspapers and online portals of the Polska Press publishing group. Our staff members and students received nominations in the Science category, which recognizes researchers for scientific work and pioneering discoveries that have a significant impact on the development of knowledge and civilizational progress.
Voting for our nominees is open until 9:00 p.m. on March 12, 2026. Supporting them may help secure their advancement to the nationwide final of the poll and give them the opportunity to win the Personality of the Year Poland 2025 award.

- Prof. Dominika Nowis, Head of the WUM Laboratory of Experimental Medicine, for her appointment by the Minister of Health to the Council of the Medical Research Agency for a six-year term;
- Prof. Michał Grąt, Head of the Chair and Department of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery, for his appointment by the Minister of Health to the Council of the Medical Research Agency for a six-year term;
- Dr. hab. Aleksandra Gąsecka-Van Der Pol from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology, WUM, for groundbreaking research on antiplatelet therapy after myocardial infarction and for successfully combining clinical work with research activities at WUM;
- Dr. hab. Jarosław Biliński from the Department of Hematology, Transplantology and Internal Medicine, UCK WUM, for placing 4th in the “Puls Medycyny” 2025 competition;
- Prof. Bożena Werner from the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and General Pediatrics, WUM, for publishing a textbook on modern pediatric cardiology for physicians, medical students, nurses, and physiotherapists;
- Prof. Krzysztof Ozierański from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology, WUM, for placing 2nd in the “Puls Medycyny” competition and for contributing to positive changes in Polish medicine;
- Dr. hab. Mateusz Zawadka from the 2nd Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, WUM, for placing 8th in the “Puls Medycyny” 2025 competition;
- Dr. hab. Monika Gawałko from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology, WUM, for placing 6th in the “Puls Medycyny” 2025 competition;
- Karol Sadowski, a WUM student and PhD candidate, for receiving a distinction in the 3rd edition of the “Young Promoter of Poland” competition;
- Aleksandra Frankowska, a student of the English Division, for being selected among an elite group of six individuals chosen for the Student Ambassador Program associated with the World Transplant Congress.
