Our professor with state decoration

Prof. Robert Gałązkowski, the Head of the Department of Medical Emergency WUM, received a state decoration from President Volodymyr Zelensky for his support of Ukraine during the war.

The ceremony was held on May 12 at the Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw. Professor Gałązkowski, along with 12 other people, was awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class, which was presented by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha. The distinction was awarded for contributions to assisting Ukraine in the areas of medicine, humanitarian aid and training.

"This is not done for decorations, but for people who need help, who suffer and die in this unjust war. We need to help and support Ukraine, because the same evil may also affect us," said Prof. Robert Gałązkowski.

During the award ceremony, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, emphasized that the awardees were real heroes and deserved to be decorated with their good deeds and great hearts.
