We have been providing postgraduate education for 20 years now

This year the Center for Postgraduate Education MUW is celebrating its 20th anniversary. During this time, 9300 training courses were conducted here, including more than 116 editions of postgraduate and MBA programs. More than 141,000 people participated in them.

On the occasion of the anniversary, a meeting was held at the university Professors' Club, during which the history of the Center, its achievements, activities and future plans were presented. The event was hosted by the Director of the Center for Postgraduate Education, Prof. Maciej Słodkowski.

The history of postgraduate education at our university dates back to 2002. It was then that the Faculty of Postgraduate Education was established, which in 2006 was transformed into the Center for Postgraduate Education. Since its inception, the Center has been engaged in conducting postgraduate studies, specialty training and continuing education courses. The staff includes prominent experts in many fields of medicine, who guarantee the highest standards of quality in the training provided, and this translates into unflagging interest among trainees. As part of its activities, the Center cooperates with both MUW departments and staff, other universities, including the Warsaw School of Economics, Jagiellonian University, and external institutions and specialists.

During the anniversary meeting, Prof. Wojciech Noszczyk, the first Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education in 2002-2005, recalled the history of the formation of the Faculty and the difficulties that accompanied it. Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, MD, PhD, Rector of MUW, who held the position of Vice Dean and then Dean of the Faculty/Center for Postgraduate Education in 2005-2012, talked about, among other things, the postgraduate programs that were started during his tenure. Since then, they have continued to be one of the Center's main areas of activity. He also mentioned the huge role of specialty training, in the conduct of which MUW is one of the leading centers. Prof. Boleslaw Samoliński - Dean of the CPE from 2012 to 2019, unable to attend the event in person, sent a recording in which he mentioned the huge success of the MBA studies created by MUW jointly with the Warsaw School of Economics. He also spoke of the increasingly important role that postgraduate education plays and will play in the future.

Artur Białoszewski, head of the SGH-WUM MBA Executive Program in Health Care, as well as coordinator for the development of forms of postgraduate education at CPE MUW, presented a vision for the development of the Center, including the prospect of launching new continuing education courses, postgraduate studies, and developing institutional cooperation both nationally and internationally. At the same time, he congratulated the former authorities of the center and thanked the partners involved to date for their assistance in the development of postgraduate forms of education.
