Medical Simulation Center - what's going on at the construction site

We are looking forward to the construction of the new Medical Simulation Center. Construction work started during vacation. Now the reinforcement of the foundations is underway.

The construction of the Medical Simulation Center is a massive investment of 131 million zlotys, very important for MUW. Recently, the construction site was visited by Rector, Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, together with Jaroslaw Prugar, Vice Chancellor for Maintenance.

- We are pleased to see the progress of the work. We are looking forward to the moment when the raising of the topping out would be possible, but we understand that before the walls appear, a solid foundation needs to be poured. The Medical Simulation Center is one of the most important investments of the current  university authorities. The state-of-the-art center will allow us to raise the teaching of medicine to a new, expected by students, highest possible level - the Rector said.

The state-of-the-art building will stand on Pawinskiego Street in Ochota district. There will be high-fidelity rooms, primarily an operating room, a delivery room, and intensive care rooms. There will be a pre-hospital care space with an ambulance, as well as technical skills rooms. It will be possible to practice wound suturing, dressing, catheterization, etc. there. Classrooms will also be created for medical communication classes involving a simulated patient.

Construction work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. After that, it will remain to equip the rooms.
