The matriculation ceremony was led by Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, who warmly welcomed the students. They were also addressed by Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW.
- You are becoming part of a great history, not only of our university, which is the oldest in Warsaw. We also have a great tradition of teaching dentistry. The foundation act of the Institute of Dentistry took place in 1920. Two years ago we celebrated the centennial of teaching dentistry in Warsaw - the Rector stressed. At the same time, he noted that the tradition of teaching is combined at MUW with modernity, the best example of which is the most modern University Dental Centre in Poland.

During the ceremony, students were wished perseverance and success in achieving their goals. Dr. Piotr Pawliszak, president of the Regional Medical Chamber, pointed out two aspects that should be taken care of during studies and afterwards. These are good communication (both within the medical team and with patients) and a balance between academic and private life. And Dominika Domanowska, chairwoman of the Faculty Government Board, encouraged involvement in student life and student government. The individuals who obtained highest scores in the recruitment process for each course were presented with badges with the faculty logo by the MUW Rector and the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine.

The highlight of the ceremony was, of course, the oath. It was accepted from the students of the Polish-language fields by Dr. Joanna Peradzyńska, Vice Dean for Education in the fields of: Physiotherapy, Audiophonology with Hearing Prosthetics, Electroradiology. Whereas, the oath from EDD students was taken by Ewa Czochrowska, MD, PhD, Vice Dean for Education of the Dental Medicine Fields in English, General and Clinical Speech Therapy and International Cooperation.

An integral part of every matriculation is the inaugural lecture. This year at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, it was delivered by Professor Kazimierz Szopiński from the Department of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. The topic: Diagnostic imaging for beginners.
