Medical sciences graduates received their diplomas and are off to conquer the world

On Monday, August 29, 143 master's degree holders and 76 bachelor's degree holders celebrated their graduation from the Faculty of Medical Sciences MUW. - Remember the thought of Plato, who reportedly used to say "The beginning is the most important part of the work." And that's the beginning you've just made - said Dariusz Białoszewski, MD, PhD, MUW Professor, Dean of the Faculty to the graduates of Physiotherapy, Electroradiology, Audiophonology with hearing prosthetics, as well as General and Clinical Speech Therapy during the graduation ceremony.

The graduation ceremony is always a special event in the life of a university. The young medics came to the graduation ceremony accompanied by their relatives. Also present on this important day were representatives of the university's top authorities, fraternal faculties, faculty council members and teaching staff. - You have just completed an important stage of your life. You can start working and start taking part in the diagnosis and treatment process of patients. Remember, however, that this is not the end of your education. You will be working in medical professions that force you to constantly deepen the professional knowledge you have acquired. Without its continuous updating, there is no way to treat patients well. For this reason, you have the duty, right and privilege of continuing education. Only in this way you can become independent and valued professionals, desirable members of therapeutic teams. This is what I sincerely wish you on behalf of myself and on behalf of all your university teachers - said the event's host the Dean Dariusz Białoszewski, MD, PhD, MUW Professor.

The rector also addressed the graduates with congratulations and best wishes. He stressed that a diploma of the Medical University of Warsaw is a passport that opens many doors, both at home and abroad. The university is constantly developing and making sure that the level of teaching is constantly improved. It also strives to meet the requirements of modern health care and the criteria of an international medical establishment. The rector spoke about, being built with all students in mind, a state-of-the-art medical simulation center and a new form of classes in which students from different fields of study will learn together how to communicate and operate in a multidisciplinary team. He also recalled the long history and tradition of our university, which was the first in Warsaw to start teaching medicine. - I would like you to be proud of your achievements and the fact that you graduated from this particular university. And that you should not only carry pride in your profession, but also show it to others, because practicing it is an honor - the rector concluded. In addition, the floor was taken by Prof. Marek Kuch, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Prof. Boleslaw Samolinski, Chairman of the Health Sciences Discipline Council, and Prof. Witold Rongies - Provincial Consultant in Physiotherapy.

After the speeches, it was time for the most important part of the ceremony - the graduates' oath. The dean asked all graduates to stand up and repeat the words of the oath. "Accepting with deep respect and gratitude the title bestowed upon me, I vow." - the young medics said with concentration and seriousness, declaring, among other things, to serve human life and health according to the best of their knowledge, prevent suffering, prevent disease and participate in the treatment process, as well as uphold the dignity of the profession and systematically improve their knowledge. The oath ended with a collective "I vow and promise!" Shortly after, the graduates with the highest average were honored, receiving the "Golden Graduate Laurel" from the hands of the rector and dean. The awarded graduates were: Natalia Niezgoda from Physiotherapy, Olga Karwowska, Angelika Rolla and Gabriela Urbańczyk from Electroradiology, Maja Slomka from General and Clinical Speech Therapy.
