English Division students ceremoniously completed their studies at MUW

90 graduates of the English Division of the Faculty of Medicine have officially completed their education at our University. Accompanied by the rector's and dean's authorities, lecturers, as well as family members and friends, on June 25 in the auditorium of the Didactic Center MUW, they received their diplomas and threw their graduation caps, thus symbolically bidding farewell to MUW. - I congratulate you, pay my sincere respects and wish you a successful, exciting and rewarding journey through the world of medicine - said to the heroes of the ceremony Professor Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of our University.

In the 2021/2022 academic year, medical studies conducted in English were completed by graduates coming from such countries as: Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Norway, Germany or Finland.
The graduation ceremony, organized specifically for graduates and their relatives, was led by Prof. Rafal Krenke, dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The dean welcomed the heroes of the ceremony and all the guests, and then gave the floor to Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW.

The rector stressed that it was a great privilege for him to be present at the graduation and to be able to celebrate this special day with the graduates. He also noted that graduation is not only their personal success, but also a source of pride for the entire university, which releases competent and well-educated doctors. - Dear Graduates! In a moment you will take the Hippocratic Oath and receive your diplomas. These diplomas are the mark of quality of the Medical University of Warsaw, which can open many doors. Use it with pride, because we are proud of you. But more importantly, carry the words of the oath with you as a commitment. Realize and remember that from this day forward, you too are responsible for this great medical tradition and the future of medicine. Thus, the development of this unique art of saving lives now rests on your shoulders. Take up the torch. You are the keepers of the fire. - Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong said.

The gathering was also addressed by the dean of the faculty, Prof. Rafal Krenke, who stressed that studying in a foreign country is much more difficult than at home. He added that the congratulations should be much greater, since the last years of education were disrupted by the pandemic and students found it harder to acquire knowledge. - I believe that cooperation, support and mutual understanding between students and academics also contributed to your success. - He said to the attendees. The dean also thanked the representatives of the English Division Student Government and the previous and current deans of the faculty for creating a platform for fruitful cooperation and solving problems that students faced. - Since we all agree that students are one of the main pillars of any university, I would like to thank you for choosing to live here and study medicine at MUW a few years ago. Your presence here has been a wonderful experience and has definitely enriched our university - the dean said.

After the speeches, the dean asked the graduates to stand up and repeat the words of the oath after Jacek Sienko, MD, PhD, vice dean for student affairs of the English Division. Among other things, the graduates swore an oath to fulfill all the duties imposed by law, to uphold the dignity of the doctor, to help the suffering without any differences, such as, for example, race, religion, nationality, political views, with the sole aim of their welfare.

Then it was time for awarding of diplomas. The first to receive a diploma was Noah Bohge, who received from the hands of the rector and dean the "Golden Graduate Laurel" for the best academic performance during his studies. Noah Bohge was also invited to give a speech on behalf of this year's graduates. The young doctor recalled his time as a student, full of ups and downs, long hours in the library and large amounts of coffee consumed. Time that helped shape the characters. He congratulated all the graduates and stressed that they can be proud of what they have achieved. Jannush Kylanathan of the English Division Student Government also spoke on behalf of the graduates, who, like the previous speakers, praised the strength and passion of the graduates to achieve their dream goals.

The ceremony culminated with a concert by the MUW Choir and a joint commemorative photo.

In addition to those mentioned, the ceremony was also attended by Prof. Piotr Pruszczyk, Vice Rector for Science and Technology Transfer, Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Joanna Kolmas, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Mariusz Gujski, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Joanna Peradzyńska, MD, PhD, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
