Meeting of the members of the Mark Dietrich Institute of Contemporary Civilization Problems

The institute was established in 1996. In 2018, as part of the Institute, Medical University of Warsaw, Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw, Warsaw Agricultural University and Warsaw School of Humanities and Social Sciences concluded a cooperation agreement. On February 17 this year, the rectors of these universities and members of the Institute's Council met at the MUW. A draft of a new agreement on cooperation was discussed.

The Mark Dietrich Institute of Contemporary Civilization Problems works for the benefit of the founding universities and the academic community of Warsaw, as well as other domestic and foreign academic and scientific institutions. It conducts studies on the social understanding of the problems of modern civilization, forecasts the impact of the development of science and technology on the future shape of society, and undertakes activities to integrate the academic community.

The subject of the meeting of the members of the Institute was the 2020-2021 activity report including the most important matters related to the functioning, publishing and conference activities, education and finances, as well as intentions for 2022. Due to the changes in the composition of the parties to the agreement and the need to adapt the Institute's activities to the new conditions, those taking part in the meeting discussed a draft of a new agreement on cooperation. During the meeting, the President of the Institute's College was also elected, and Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba was chosen.

The meeting was attended by: Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW, Prof. Alojzy Nowak, Rector of UW, Prof. Roman Cieślak, Rector of SWPS University, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, Rector of Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Józef Lubacz Director of the Institute as well as members of the Institute's Council, Professors: Tomasz Borecki, Andrzej Eliasz, Marek Krawczyk, Zbigniew Marciniak, Tomasz Szapiro.
