An innovative book of disease names

The first substantial monograph entitled "The Book of Latin and Polish Names of Diseases from the Late 18th Century to the Present" authored by Beata Olędzka, PhD, from the Foreign Language Department MUW, has been published in Poland.

The work devoted to the development of medical terminology in Polish and Latin is addressed to doctors, students of medicine, historians, linguists, translators and lawyers dealing with the issue of medical law. The publication takes up a topic that has not yet been described, nor has been published in Latin or Polish language. The unquestionable added value of this work is the interdisciplinary perspective and the comparative Latin and Polish approach.

The author is a recognized teacher of medical Latin and medical Polish as a foreign language at MUW.
