Professors of our University were honored by the Polish Medical Association

During the ceremonial gala of the Polish Medical Association, which was held at the Royal Castle, the "Gloria Medicinae" medals were awarded to the outstanding representatives of the Polish medical community. Among the honored were professors associated with the Medical University of Warsaw: Prof. Renata Górska, Prof. Longin Marianowski, Prof. Jacek Szmidt, Prof. Grzegorz Opolski and Prof. Alicja Wiercińska-Drapało.

The "Gloria Medicinae" Medal is the highest distinction of the Polish Medical Association, awarded "for dedicated service to people, for the highest respect for human health and life, for conscientious and dignified treatment, for upholding the honor and noble traditions of the medical profession, for creating lasting values for the good of the Polish Medical Association." The medal's chapter honors only 10 physicians each year. During this year's ceremony, due to pandemic restrictions, exceptionally 20 people received the medals: those honored for 2019 and for 2020.

The gala was held under the Honorary Patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda. The ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for International Relations, Development and Promotion, Prof. Paweł Włodarski, representing the University, and Prof. Marek Krawczyk, Rector of MUW in 2008-2016, a member of the Chapter of the Order.

The event was honored by the performance of the State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble "Mazowsze."
