NAWA will support the internationalization of the Doctoral School of the Medical University of Warsaw

The National Agency for Academic Exchange has announced the results of the call for proposals for the "STER Internationalization of Doctoral Schools" program. Co-financing will be provided to 16 entities running doctoral schools, including the Medical University of Warsaw. The money will be used, among other things, to increase the attractiveness of our doctoral studies for foreign candidates and to enable Polish and foreign doctoral students to gain international scientific experience.

MUW already offers its doctoral students many opportunities for development in medical sciences, health sciences and pharmaceutical sciences. The Doctoral School, operating within the university from 2019, has also taken a number of intensive measures to enable candidates from abroad to start their doctoral studies at MUW. Starting from the academic year 2021/2022, the recruitment process is conducted entirely in English, and English-language curricula have been created for all doctoral students at our Doctoral Study. The Doctoral School has also established cooperation with prestigious schools in France, enabling MUW doctoral students to pursue joint doctoral studies. With the funds received from NAWA, it plans to incorporate internationally renowned lecturers, create a scholarship program for the best doctoral students and provide support for foreign visits and research internships at recognized foreign scientific institutions. The project will also promote international doctoral studies and increase their recognition among potential candidates from abroad.

The "STER Internationalization of Doctoral Schools" Program is addressed to Polish universities and research units which run doctoral schools. The objective of this project is to support the internationalization of doctoral schools in order to, among other things: improve the quality of education at doctoral schools and the quality of doctoral students' research through international exchange of good practices and experiences; increase the international mobility of doctoral students; develop activities related to the internationalization of universities.
