The Duchess Anna Mazowiecka Hospital awarded for the "eye on a baby”

The young patients of the Duchess Anna Mazowiecka Clinical Hospital and their caregivers are the first in Poland to be able to use a special free app that allows live streaming of newborns. The "#eye on a baby" initiative has been appreciated by the K.I.D.S. Foundation (Children's Hospital Innovators Club), which handed the hospital in Karowa Street an award in the "Children's Hospital of the Future" competition in the digitalization category.

Parents of newborns who had to stay in the hospital due to premature birth or illness can watch their babies through cameras installed at 44 positions. Video is transmitted in near real time, in Full HD quality.

The project responds to troubles arising from pandemic restrictions. When hospital visitation was suspended, parents found themselves in a difficult situation. Under the new conditions, the procedures used so far had not worked. This inspired other solutions and standards of conduct. Thanks to the "#eyeonababy," the risk of transmission of coronavirus (SARS-COV-2) infection has been minimized, while not forgetting the needs of young patients and their parents. Being able to observe the child, gives parents a sense of security and helps them cope with the stress and feelings of powerlessness that separation causes. According to Dr. Dariusz Madajczyk from the Department of Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care, the response to the app is very positive and all parents praise the idea highly.
