Official matriculation of students into the Faculty of Dental Medicine

“To persevere in the pursuit of knowledge and the development of our personalities, and by all our conduct to uphold the dignity and honor of the students of the Medical University of Warsaw” - newly admitted students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine took their oaths today. They were officially welcomed, in the presence of the university authorities, by the Dean of the Faculty - Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education - Prof. Marek Kuch.

109 dental medicine students, 29 dental hygiene students and 30 dental technology students were admitted to the academic community of MUW. 11 foreign students have also joined the group of students who will start their studies at the faculty of dental medicine conducted in English. After listening to the opening hymn - Gaude Mater Polonia and the Hymn of the Medical University of Warsaw, the guests were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty - Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk. She expressed confidence that the achievements of the newly admitted students will not be inferior to those of their predecessors, stressing that the university provides excellent teaching and research facilities and a staff of distinguished lecturers from whose knowledge and experience students should benefit. Prof. Marek Kuch also addressed warm words to the new members of our community. On behalf of the Rector of the MUW, he congratulated them on their admission to the university and assured them of the support they could count on from the university authorities and staff.
 
Then, Prof. Agnieszka Mielczarek - Vice Dean for Education of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, congratulated the students who achieved the best results during the recruitment process, among them were: Natalia Stępień, Katarzyna Ambroziak, Kacper Guzow as well as Monar Alsabih and Mohammad Sami Asghar.

The culmination of the ceremony was the oath. It was taken in both Polish and English.

The inaugural lecture entitled "Modern dentistry - opportunities and challenges " was delivered by Ewa Czochrowska, MD, PhD - Vice Dean for the English Dentistry Division and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Dental Medicine.

The ceremony was also attended by: Prof. Agnieszka Cudnoch-Jędrzejewska – Vice Rector for Human Resources, Prof. Piotr Pruszczyk – Vice Rector for  Science and Technology Transfer, the deans and council members of the Faculty of Dental Medicine as well as the representatives of the other Faculties of the Medical University of Warsaw, administrative authorities and heads of departments, clinics and units.
