New issue of the "Medycyna Dydaktyka Wychowanie” journal

We invite you to read the new issue of the Medical University of Warsaw journal “Medycyna Dydaktyka Wychowanie”.

This time, we start with a large portion of information about academic events. We present reports from four events: the graduation ceremony of the medical faculty conducted in English, the graduation ceremony for nursing and midwifery, as well as the graduation ceremony for female and male graduates of the Faculty of Medicine.

We also recommend reading three interviews: dr hab. Łukasz Kołtowski (winner of the “Supertalents in Medicine 2021” competition, 1st Department and Clinic of Cardiology, UCK MUW) talks about the achievements and challenges of interventional cardiology and advances in telemedicine, dr Paweł Witt (president of the Polish Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Nurses, Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care for Children UCK MUW) presents work in two nursing specialisations: anaesthesia and intensive care nursing and palliative care nursing. The latest talk continues the MDW series, recalling the Medicine House’ s history, which celebrates its 85th anniversary this year. This time, dr Bronisław Petsch, head of the Medics’ Club in the late 1960s and early 1970s, shares his memories with our readers.

An extremely interesting text on didactic anatomical models was prepared by dr Julian Komarnitki (Department of Clinical and Anatomy, MUW), while dr Maria Turos (Department of Medical Ethics and Palliative Medicine) devoted her article to military doctors who were among the founders of the Warsaw Medical Society in 1820.

The science column featured two materials prepared by the MUW’s Spokesperson’s Office as part of MUW’s Science Thursdays. Together with prof. Piotr Laudanski (1st Department and Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MUW) will introduce a scientific project that may contribute to developing a test for endometriosis. In the following material, prof. Paweł Łaguna (Department of Oncology, Paediatric Haematology, Clinical Transplantology and Paediatrics, UCK MUW) will discuss problems with treating children suffering from haemophilia above the age of 18.

The presentation of the research under the name “Who and why does not want to be vaccinated for COVID-19” prepared by MUW and ARC Rynek i Opinia deserves individual attention. Its results were commented on by dr hab. Wojciech Feleszko (Clinic of Pediatric Pneumonology and Allergology UCK MUW).

In the clinical section, we will present procedures performed at the Clinic of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery at the University of Medical Sciences, the 1st Clinic of Cardiology at the University of Medical Sciences, and the Department of Health Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Medical Sciences.
For those interested in information from the MUW’s Senate meetings, we also bring you up to date on the three summer meetings.
