Prof. Włodzimierz Sawicki at the head of the Polish Society of Gynaecological Oncology

On 21 September, the Polish Society of Gynaecological Oncology elected a new Board of Directors for 2021-2025. Prof. Włodzimierz Sawicki, Head of the Department of Obstetrics, Women’s Diseases and Gynaecology Oncology at the University of Medical Sciences, has been elected president.

The Polish Society of Gynaecological Oncology was founded in 1991. The aim of the Polish Society of Gynaecological Oncology is, among other things, the scientific development of research, prevention, treatment, and diagnosis in the field of oncological and gynaecological diseases, raising the level of health education and cooperation with authorities and scientific, social and professional organisations at home and abroad in organising the fight against cancer. The Polish Gynaecological Society is also involved in disseminating scientific achievements between gynaecologists, pathologists, surgeons, oncologists and radiation therapists, and representatives of other specialties related to gynaecological oncology.

The new Board also includes dr hab. Anita Chudecka-Głaz from the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 2 of the Pomeranian University of Medicine, and dr hab. Paweł Basta from the University Hospital in Kraków, who will assume the positions of Vice-Presidents, as well as dr Aleksandra Zielińska (Secretary) and dr hab. Rafał Tarkowski (Treasurer).
