MUW has risen in another international ranking

The latest edition of "The Three University Missions (MosIUR)" rankings has been released. The Medical University of Warsaw was ranked in the eight hundred, thus moving up 100 positions compared to last year. Among the 18 Polish universities included in the ranking, MUW is the only medical university.

"The Three University Missions Moscow Ranking (MosIUR)" evaluates three key missions of the university: education, research and collaboration with the society. The ranking methodology does not use reputation surveys, but is based on objective indicators that show the achievements of the aforementioned missions. The authors of the ranking took into account, among other things, students' successes in the international competitions, the number of foreign students in relation to the total number of students, the ratio of the university's budget to the total number of students, awards given to the staff and graduates according to the IREG list (List of International Academic Awards), the number of citations at the global and national level according to the Web of Science database and the number of graduates listed individually on Wikipedia. The university's position was also influenced by the number of massive open courses and followers on the Social Media, as well as the access and transparency of the website.

At the top of the ranking, which included a total of 1,650 universities from around the world, were: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Cambridge University. Among the national universities, the University of Warsaw  was ranked 119th  ahead of the Jagiellonian University (401-450) and the Adam Mickiewicz University (651-700).

The quality of the ranking is supervised by the International Board of Experts consisting of 25 specialists from 16 countries. Ranking uses data provided by Clarivate Analytics
