The team is chaired by Prof. Tomasz Hryniewiecki - Director of the National Institute of Cardiology - National Research Institute, and his deputy, Waldemar Kraska - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health.
The council's authority also includes proposing changes in the scope of services covered by the cardiac network care pilot program; submitting motions to the minister competent for health matters concerning creation, changes and supplementation of health care services related to prevention, diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases; development and presentation to the minister responsible for health proposals concerning: increase the effectiveness and popularization of preventive screening tests in the sphere of cardiovascular disease control, improvement of coordination and effectiveness of cardiological care, monitoring of cardiological care and its effectiveness, as well as, in cooperation with associations that are national scientific societies, development of standards of medical procedures regarding cardiovascular diseases and their dissemination.
