MUW is again the leader among Polish medical universities in the CWUR rankings 2021-2022

In this year's CWUR - The Center for World University Rankings, Medical University of Warsaw was ranked the highest among domestic medical universities. With an overall score of 70.6, MUW took 943rd place in the general classification and ranked 9th among 40 Polish universities.

There were 19788 institutions ranked, and those that were ranked highest made it to the Global 2000 list.

The podium was taken by 3 American universities: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University. Among Polish universities the highest positions were taken by Jagiellonian University (376), University of Warsaw (394) and AGH University of Science and Technology (606).

The creators of the ranking make their assessment without relying on the data and surveys submitted by the universities. The methodology is based on the seven indicators grouped into the four areas:

  1. Quality of education, as measured by the number of university graduates who have earned academic honors relative to the size of the university (25 percent)
  2. Graduate employment, as measured by the number of university graduates who held top management positions at the world's largest companies relative to the size of the university (25 percent)
  3. Faculty quality, as measured by the number of students who have earned academic honors (10 percent)
  4. Research Results:
    - research output measured as the total number of scientific papers (10 percent)
    - high-quality publications, as measured by the number of scientific papers published in journals of the highest prestige (10 percent)
    - number of scientific papers published in high-profile journals (10 percent)
    - citations of scientific papers (10 percent).
