MUW Scientists Among the Winners of the Prof. F. Walczak Program

Three scientists from the Medical University of Warsaw will participate in the Prof. F. Walczak Program: Dr Katarzyna Czarzasta from the Department of Experimental and Clinical Physiology; Dr Maciej Krasnodębski from the UCC MUW Department of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery; and PhD student Karol Zbroński from the I Department of Cardiology. The Prof. F. Walczak Program is a Polish National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) and Polish Ministry of Health award that offers internships at renowned U.S. medical centers.

The aim of the Program is to strengthen the potential of Polish scientific units and medical entities by supporting the international mobility of researchers in the fields of cardiology, oncology, allergology and infectious diseases. The Program offers a 3 to 6 month visit to the best medical institutions in the United States.  Awardees will have an opportunity for scientific and professional development, as well as, to gain valuable experience by working with the international scientific community in their field of research which will, in turn, contribute to the improvement of medical care in Poland.
 
MUW winners have chosen the following centers for their internships: Dr Katarzyna Czarzasta will be going to Harvard Medical School;, Dr Maciej Krasnodębski will conduct scientific research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; and PhD student  Karol Zbroński will work with outstanding specialists at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.
