Announcement no. 2 (of 9 march 2020) of the University Committee for Coronavirus Management

Despite the fact that the first cases of COVID-19 in Poland have been confirmed, the information included in Announcement no 1 of the University Committee for Coronavirus Management remains valid.

According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, everyone, including the university and the hospitals, are directly subject to the recommendations issued by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS).

We would like to encourage you to stay up-to-date with the information posted online www.gis.gov.pl [1].It is advisable to suspend travel of Polish students, PhD students, academic teachers and researchers to areas affected by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infections (indicated by GIS), as well as suspend travel of students, PhD students, academic teachers and researchers from these areas to Poland.


Announcement no. 3 (of 9 march 2020) of the University Committee for Coronavirus Management

At the time when foreign students are returning from the winter break from areas affected by SARS-CoV-2 to the dormitories, the same recommendations apply to both Polish and foreign students, as outlined by GIS.

Anyone with symptoms of a respiratory infection, and body temperature over 37.5°C,

  • If they have returned within the last 14 days from the above areas or have been in direct contact with someone with a confirmed coronavirus infection, should call the sanitary-epidemiological station and go to a hospital of infectious diseases;
  • If they have not had any direct contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 infection and have not travelled to areas affected by the virus, they should stay at home, call a doctor, or if necessary, consult a doctor in person;

Decisions concerning quarantine and isolation are made by the inspector of the sanitary-epidemiological station, tel. no 606 108 040 (24/7) or 22 310 79 09 (between 8:00-15:00).
