The work of scientists from the MUW’s Department of Regenerative Medicine awarded during the 61st Congress of the ASH Annual Meeting & Exposition

PhD students Monika Cymer and Dr Mateusz Adamiak from the Department of Regenerative Medicine of our University received Abstract Achievement Award at the 61st Congress of the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting & Exposition, which took place from 7-10 December in Orlando.

The awarded articles are:

- “Novel evidence that Pannexin-1 channel is involved in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) release from the cells for optimal mobilization of hematopoietic stem progenitors (HSPCs) and polymorphism of Pannexin-1 - SNP 5 (Rs3020015) T/C characterizes poor mobilizer status of the patients.” (Monika Cymer)
- “Novel Evidence That the Nlrp3 Inflammasome Plays a Role in Bone Marrow As a “Cogwheel” Connecting Purinergic Signaling with Activation of the Complement Cascade to Induce “Sterile Inflammation”, Which Is Required for Optimal Mobilization of Hematopoietic Stem/Progenitor Cells.” (dr Mateusz Adamiak)

The ASH Annual Meeting & Exposition is the world’s most comprehensive hematology event of the year. The meeting provides an invaluable educational experience, and the opportunity to review thousands of scientific abstracts highlighting updates in a variety of hematology topics.
