New Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences

On June 29, Rector Prof. Rafał Krenke presented Prof. Robert Gałązkowski with the official appointment to the position of Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The term of office of Professor Gałązkowski will run from July 1, 2026, to September 30, 2028.

Prof. Robert Gałązkowski, MD, PhD, DSc (Medical and Health Sciences), has been Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at WUM since 2018. Between 2018 and 2024, he served as Vice-Dean for Dietetics and Emergency Medical Services at the Faculty of Health Sciences of WUM. Until 2028, he will serve as Chair of the Council for the Discipline of Health Sciences at WUM.

Between 2008 and 2024, he served as Director of the Polish Medical Air Rescue Service, and from 2015 to 2020 he was a member of the Scientific Council to the Minister of Health.

Professor Gałązkowski has received numerous distinctions, including the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Gold Cross of Merit for contributions to healthcare, the Honorary Badge for Merit in Healthcare, and the “Bene Merito” Honorary Badge. In 2024, he was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University in Kyiv.
